NLC reaffirms partnership with Anambra Assembly, resolves issues with lawmaker, Muobike

Anambra State House of Assembly and the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Anambra State Chapter, have confirmed that the issues arising from a recent two-day industrial action involving the member representing Aguata Constituency Two, Chief Tony Muobike and the NLC have been amicably resolved.

The resolution was disclosed by the Majority Leader of the Assembly, Sir Ikenna Ofodeme, and the State NLC Chairman, Comrade Humphrey Nwafor, following a meeting at the legislative complex in Awka.

Addressing journalists, Sir Ikenna expressed surprise at the recent social media reports, stating that there was no clear reason for the situation. 

He emphasized that the 8th Assembly and the NLC share a common agenda, mutual understanding, and interests,  according to him, the NLC's actions are always in the best interest of the state and Nigeria.

On his part, Comrade Nwafor, confirmed that the matter had been resolved and that the media reports were exaggerated.

He praised the 8th Assembly for their effective legislation, passage of bills, and motions, and reaffirmed their continued partnership with the lawmakers for the State's development.

Comrade Nwafor also highlighted that a forward path has been established for the state's workers to enhance progress in the state.

Also, the  State Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, Comrade Chris Ogbonna, and State Chairman of  Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, Comrade Chikwelu Adigwe, noted that the altercation was blown out of proportion, assuring Ndi Anambra that the issue had been duly resolved.

The member representing, Anambra East Constituency, Barrister Obi Nweke and his Onitsha North Two Counterpart, Barrister Patrick Okafor were part of the meeting.
