Josep "Pep" Guardiola Sala-managed Manchester City have successfully tackled Simone Inzaghi’s Inter in the 2022/23 Champions League final, thereby completing the treble story.
The treble-chasing Manchester City got the job done winning the Champions League. The Cityzens beat Inter Milan 1-0 win at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium Istanbul.
A fantastic shot from Rodrig and magnificient saves by Onano made the day glorious for City. This is in addition to Lukaku's failed luck as his efforts failed to yield any goal for Inter Milan.
Having won the Premier League and FA Cup titles this season this win means the much-desired treble is accomplished.
Inter Milan reached their first Champions League final in more than a decade with a 1-0 victory over city rivals AC Milan. Thus, Inter Milan played in their fifth Champions League final, the first since winning the trophy in 2010.
How it played out
Haaland gave the first warning in the 27th minute as a strike hit the leg of goal keeper thus saving the situation. The chance: Rodri and De Bruyne exchanged passes connecting Haaland who fired from a tight angle, but straight at Onano, who sticks out a leg and saved then situation Inter.
Manchester City finally took the lead. Bernardo Silva connected the central area finding Rodrigo who was on target to hit the net.
In the 35th minute, however, injury forced De Bruyne off in another Champions League final through injury.
Dimarco attempted bringing Inter to a level. Dumfries heads the ball into a dangerous area and Dimarco connects with a looping header that travels over Ederson, but hits the bar.
Inter Milan played in their fifth Champions League final and first since winning the trophy in 2010. The three-time European Cup winners earlier secured the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana this season.
While the Cityzens by savour their victory, some analysts think the fortunes of the club will depend on if Josep "Pep" Guardiola Sala will be around the next season.
