APC chieftain, Sir Paul Chukwuma has called on academics to bridge the gap between research and the industry. He said the university sector should lead the process of linking research with the industry in order to bring sustainable development in Nigeria.
He also particularly charged academics to become more innovative by linking research to the industry. He, however, urged the administration of the institution to tap the generous skills found in the institution.
Sir Paul Chukwuma was speaking at a hybrid conference organised by Faculty of Management Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
Sir Paul Chukwuma also stated that Africa cannot develop without looking inwards. He consequently urged academics can play huge roles in this regard.
As part of his speech, Sir Paul Chukwuma bemoaned insecurity in Anambra, adding that no true development can thrive in the present state of insecurity. He stated that government must focus on grassroots oriented policies in order to enthrone enduring peace and development. Sir Paul Chukwuma stated that multiple taxation is not the interest of sustainable development.

Sir Paul Chukwuma, who is the Pro-Chancellor, Olivia University, Bujumbura, Burundi, and other distinguished guests have spoke at a hybrid conference organised by Faculty of Management Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
The event held at ASUU Secretariat in the university. The therm of the conference is: Governance and Sustainable Development in Africa: Issues and Strategic Options.
The Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof Carol Arinze-Umeobi, in her address urged all participants in the conference to take full advantages of the opportunities offered by the conference.The Ag. Vice Chancellor later presented an award to Sir Paul Chukwuma.
In attendance are Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Admin), Very Rev. Fr. Peter C. Agbonome, CSSP (Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic), Prof. Pius V. C Okoye, Dean Faculty of Management Science. Dr Chukwuemeka Okoli, Dr Jude KC Onyima and Prof. Anayo Nkamnebe are expected to present lead papers.
The Director General of the council, Hon Ifeanyi Ibezi, and other members of the campaign council attended the conference. Sir Paul Chukwuma spoke to the press after divering his key speech.
