The 2022 World Cup finals is considered to be one of the most interesting of all time. The match took a different tempo when Lionel Messi put his side ahead in the first half. In the second half, France's Kylian Mbappé retaliated with the first goal via a penalty. He later levelled up with an equaliser against Argentina to make it 2-2. This situation brought tension on both fans and with President of France watching keenly.

How it happened

The South American side took the lead half-way through the first half, after a foul in the box by France winger Ousmane Dembele, and that led to Messi score his sixth goal of the tournament from the penalty spot.

Later, a thrilling counter-attack down the right flank through Brighton's Alexis Mac Allister to feed Angel Di Maria, led to Argentina's second goal.

In the second half, France pulled back a goal after a foul on Kolo Muani led to another penalty, which was slotted home by Kylian Mbappe.

Just 90 seconds later, it was Mbappe again, putting France level with a stunning volley.

The score was 2-2 after full-time forcing an extra 30 minutes of play to decide the result.

Extra time, penalties

In the extra-time, Messi scored again by knocking in on the rebound, despite Kounde's efforts to clear off the line.

Mbappe then drew France level again with a penalty- becoming only second player after Sir Geoff Hurst to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final.

On to penalties, and it was Argentina keeper Emiliano Martinez's moment of glory, saving a shot from Kingsley Coman and watching Aurelien Tchouameni fire wide.

History

It was recorded that Di Maria andMessi started from the bottom and now on the Cuslp. In 2005, Di María and Messi won the U20 World Cup. 2008- Do Maria won Olympic gold by Messi's assistance.

In 2014, same Di Maria lost in World Cup finals to Germany.

Despite the loss, in 2022 Di Maria Win the Copa América on a Di María goal.

And finally, 2022- both  scored in the World Cup finals.

Perhaps the man to remain in memories is Kylian Mbappé. His eye was on the gold cup,  but will he has settle with the golden boot, being the highest goal scorer.
