Priests should guard against professional rivalry, envy — Bishop Onah

Priests have been urged  to guard against professional rivalry and envy. In addition, they have been urged to focus on the apostolate.

Bishop Godfrey Onah, Bishop of Diocese of Nsukka  gave the injunctions in a homily during retreat and the celebration of his 11th Episcopal Anniversary on July 4, 2024. 

He said, "You may think you are being objective when you are really envious when you consider the achievements of other priests."

Bishop Onah who also asserted that is much work available for the priests to be done, urged priests to make more people available to Christ through their works. 

Bishop Onah gave admonition: "If you become a career prophet or a political priest, there consequences, you will never be happy nor satisfied." 

He implored the ordained to simply be a priest to the people
