The Rangers vs Enyimba game has been abandoned following a late penalty call in favour of the Flying Antelopes.
Controversy set in about the 97th minute when the centre referee pointed to the spot after Enyimba's Pascal Eze appeared to pull down Rangers striker Godwin Obaje as he poised towards goal.
The penalty call did not go well with Enyimba players who protested the decision. Some Enyimba fans also protested the decision. Enyimba players first surrounded the centre referee in furious protest before staging a walk out. This inflicted a fatal injury to the progress of the match.
All efforts to resume the match failed as the Aba side had walked out. Enyimba's players had already made their way back to the dressing room and refused to return, despite pleading from officials.
Rangers could not take the decisive penalty as there was no opposition on the field. In the ensuing confusion, some fans invaded the pitch, disrupting the deciding match.

The derby at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium was 0-0 until the 11th minute of added time in the second half when the referee awarded a penalty to host Rangers. The hotly anticipated derby seemed destined to finish 0-0 after a 97 minutes of trading tackles.
Therefore, Enyimba felt the penalty was not justified and that the stoppage time had gone on for too long as the fourth official had indicated eight minutes.
Who gets the full 3 points? The NPFL title race hangs in the balance as the outcome of the abandoned match is still to be determined.
