Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Federal Polytechnic Oko chapter today honoured honoured 17 retired members with award of recognition of service.
The retirees were presented with a plaque with inscription of their names as sign for a meritorious honour and a cheque of #150,000.
Speaking during the event, the Chairman of the occasion, and former National President of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Comrade Asomugha C.B. applauded the retired colleagues for their immense contributions towards the upliftment of the polytechnic and society at large. He further charged the ASUP serving members to be selfless, free minded and dedicated to their duties so that one day they will be celebrated as well.

The Chairman Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Federal Polytechnic Oko chapter, Comrade Barrister Fidelis Oduah, PhD, thanked the retired colleagues for leaving a good legacy in the polytechnic and prayed that God will keep them alive for more meaningful contributions to humanity even as senior citizens.
ASUP Chairman, Barr. F. M. Oduah also stated: "On behalf of the CEC, I heartily congratulate the entire ASUP family of our chapter on the successful honouring and payment of the third batch of the ASUP Oko seventeen retirees. The support of the ASUP family was grandiose and top-notch. The CEC reassures of her ever readiness to continue in the very art and act of diligently serving the Union."
In a reaction, Dr. S. I. Okeke, who spoke on behalf of every other retirees thanked ASUP for remembering them.
