"Yesterday, I participated in the Silver Jubilee Celebration of Madonna University, at their main campus in Elele, Rivers State. I was delighted to share in their joy of having maintained an enviable and steady educational growth for the past 25 years.

"The university's visible contributions to education remain immeasurable and are worth celebrating. I thank them for honouring me with an award for my contributions to their growth as an Institution.

"I recall how I supported the institution as the Governor of Anambra state by constructing access roads to the institution and donating school buses and other financial aid to the University.

"I have always maintained that education is the best investment any nation can make for its citizens, and whether in private or public institutions, governments need to aggressively invest in education for the ultimate good of society.

"i thank the founder of Madonna University, our dear revered Rev Fr. Prof. Emmanuel Edeh, and his management team for their innovative and visionary leadership, resilience and firm determination to make positive impacts on society through their contributions to education through the University. I encouraged the students to remain committed to their growth in learning and character. Education, as I have always maintained, will open many doors for them, even on the global stage.

"I wish them well in their future endeavours. By investing in the critical areas of human development; education, health and pulling people out of poverty, we will build the New Nigeria. It is indeed POssible."
