Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State is dead. He was 67 years old.
Akeredolu reportedly died in Lagos on Wednesday. It was learnt that he was managed by State House doctors because they could not fly him abroad again for medical help.
A source stated that “They were looking for dialysis machines to be sent to his secret location in Lagos last week.”
Recall to that the ailing governor returned to Nigeria in September after a three-month medical leave in Germany.
He recently proceeded on another medical leave after President Bola Tinubu directed that he handed over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa. This decision did not go down well with his caucus.
His deputy, Aiyedatiwa has been standing in as Acting Governor.
