Sevilla qualifies for next season's UCL

* Becomes five times champions in one decade

The Espana giant, Sevilla football club Wednesday night defeated AS Roma in the final of UEFA Europa League.

According to the UEFA rules, the defending champions of UEFA Europa League gains automatic qualification into the next season UEFA Champions League.

In what seems to be physical and controversial encounter between the L' Giallorossi (AS Roma) and Los Nervionenses (Sevilla) , the match ended  1-1 n both full-time and additional time before the penalty shoot out.

The Los Nervionenses goalkeeper, Bounou made two clinical saves and one got through while the team skippers scored all, winning 4-1 on penalties.

Initially, the Romanista FC took the lead in the 35th minutes of the first half, through ball from Gianluca Mancini which gave chance for Pabulo Dybala's goal.

The Sevilla side equalised in the 55th minutes of the second half through the pressure crosses that resulted in an own goal from Gianluca Mancini.



Having been kicked out of the UEFA Champions League at group stage, Los Nervionenses joined in the round of 16 stage of UEFA Europa League, where they begun their successful run for the championship.

Currently, Sevilla FC has extended their UEFA championship record by winning it for the fifth time in a space of ten years.

Sevilla FC will join La-liga champions, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad in the UCL 2023/2024 session.
