Senatorial election: Chris Uba woos more communities, stakeholders in Anambra South

A frontline politician and PDP candidate for Anambra South senatorial election, Chef Christian Uba has been engaging more communities and stakeholders in consultative meetings.

Recently, Chief Uba was at Ekwulobia, where he had discussions with community people, traders and other stakeholders. His reception at Ekwulobia was overwhelming. 

In an address, Chief Chris Uba assured the people of his strong capacity to deliver the dividends of democracy to his people. He implored on the people to recall his capacity building and empowerment he has implemented over the years. Chief Uba has been on the Board of People's Democratic Party (PDP).

PROFILE OF CHIEF (SIR) CHRISTIAN CHUKWUNEDUM UBA

Chief (Sir) Christian Chukwunedum Uba was born to the late Nze and Dame Philip N. Uba of Uga, Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State of Nigeria. Chief Chris Uba as he is popularly called is a man of many parts and a political powerhouse.

He was educated in Nigeria and Canada and since leaving school, he has remained a key player in the political and economic environment of Nigeria. It is on record that Chief Uba is the youngest member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and has ever since remained an influential actor in the politics of Nigeria. Politically, Chief Uba has made sacrifices. He has also empowered many people, and the large followership he is currently enjoying attests to his established life as a political father. 

In the economic sector, Chief Chris Uba is a successful businessman, who created a niche for himself in the diverse sectors of the Nigerian economy. He established many thriving businesses in oil and gas, as well as the telecommunications sectors of Nigeria. He is the Group Chairman of the following companies; Sigmund Oilfields Ltd, Sigmund Oil Wells Ltd, First Axis Oil and Gas Ltd, IIokris Ltd, Oil Construction Co Ltd, Kay Kay Construction Ltd amongst others.

Beyond these exploits in politics and the economy, he is also a philanthropist, who has awarded so many scholarships to brilliant and indigent students and has extended a helping hand to people in need. He established a revolving loan for small businesses which has helped several people to establish businesses and revive ailing businesses. He has made it a yearly tradition of organizing free medical outreach programs for the elderly, and the indigent as Christmas gifts where all forms of medical problems and surgery are carried out in addition to the distribution of food items and items of clothing. His philanthropy knows no bounds.

Chris Uba is a devout Christian and a Knight of the Anglican Communion. He has contributed immensely to the service of God and the Church. He has been a pillar in Christ Church, Uwani, Enugu, St James Anglican Church Uga, Aguata L.G.A, Anambra and St Mathews Anglican Church, Abuja, where he has contributed and executed numerous projects in the service of God. His Christian life has also benefitted other denominations.

In recognition of his achievements and philanthropic works, many communities that have benefited from these philanthropies showed their appreciation by conferring on him some chieftaincy titles, which include the following:

Chief Chris Uba is a man who fights other people's battles, especially the downtrodden.  He fights for justice wherever he perceives the perpetuation of injustice.
