Election is underway peacefully in most parts of Anambra State. Commissioner of Police  Anambra State Echeng Echeng led a patrol team monitoring some parts of the state.

Voting started early in some parts, but voting started as late as 12noon, or more in some places. However, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has acknowledged that there was a late arrival of electoral officials and materials in many polling units across Nigeria.

INEC Chairman confirms late voting, theft of BVAS

Yakubu stated that thugs attacked two different polling units in two states in Nigeria, stealing at least eight BVAS machines. INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, who briefed journalists in Abuja, confirmed  voting continued in the  two polling areas as backup BVAS machines were provided.

The Police Command says the situation room is very active and requested people to keep calling and sending reports via SMS.  The Command Control Room Number/Situation room number 07039194332, 09115877098 or the PRO at 08039334002.

Community leader lauds INEC

Meanwhile, the President General Ndiokpalaeze Improvement Union (NIU), Barr. Uchenna Obiorah has commended INEC for the process of election in his community. He thanked voters at Ndiokpalaeze for the peaceful conduct of elections at various polling booths located at Ndiokpalaeze.

Similarly, the Youth Leader, Ndiokpalaeze, Chief  Ifeanyi  Abazu (Ogodo) confirmed orderlines in the conduct of election and commended the youths  for coming out en measse and  for peaceful conduct.
