Umudibia Youth Organisation in Umudibia Autonomous Community, Owerri West LGA have dissociated selves from a publication purportedly issued by the organisation in respect of the controversial Rectorship interview held at Federal  Polytechnic,  Nekede last week.

Recall that a group  speaking on behalf of the organisation praised  the process and outcome of the interview.  Publicity Secretary of the association, Comrade Wisdom Uche Okoro issued a disclaimer.

REFUTAL

Our attention has been drawn to a false and deceitful article circulating online which reads *"The Youths Extol the 15th Governing Council Chairman and Members for Conducting a Free and Fair Screening for the Selection of the 9th Substantive Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri"*

The leadership of Umudibia Youths Organization disassociates itself from this false, deceitful and unguided article made by some unscrupulous miscreants whose aim is to cause division and disunity in Umudibia Autonomous Community.

The Umudibia Youth Organization did not at any time put out such article and advises the general public to disregard whatever information that was contained therein, as it does not in any way represent the collective voice of the entire youths of Umudibia Community.

The Umudibia Youth Organization and the entire Umudibia Community has never dabbled into the internal affairs of the Polytechnic nor the selection of a rector for the institution.

Recall that, during the courtesy visit to the palace of the traditional ruler of Umudibia Community *"HRH Eze Godwin Onyewuchi Merenini (Dibia 1 of Umudibia)* some time last month, the youth president general, *Hon Comr Onyekachi C. Kalu (Kube)* on behalf of the entire youths of Umudibia pledged their unalloyed support for the chairman and members of the 15th governing council of the Polytechnic Nekede, hence our reminder that the youths and the entire Umudibia Community is committed to supporting and working with anyone who emerges as the new rector of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede as we've been doing in the past.

Ordinarily, the leadership of Umudibia Youths Organization would've overlooked the article made by the mischievous clout chasers but for the purpose of setting the record straight, we're putting out this disclaimer to keep the general public, the chairman and members of the 15th Governing Council and the entire Polytechnic Community informed.

The general public is further advised to disregard any information which does not come from the right sources as the only recognized leadership of Umudibia Youths Organization is the *Hon Onyekachi C. Kalu (Kube)* led executives.

Umudibia Community is known for its strive in the promotion of unity and oneness, hence our resolve to always ensure that peace and order is maintained in Umudibia Community and by extension the Federal Polytechnic Nekede Community at all times.

Comr. Wisdom Uche Okoro

(Publicity Secretary, UYO)
