The 2023 SUG week is underway at Fedeeal Polytechnic, Oko. The flag off was particularly noteworthy as the sporting event was kicked off by Dr. Francisca Unoma Nwafulugo, the first female of female Rector of the institution.
The tournament saw a total of eight schools registered to compete, including the School of Art/Design, School of Engineering, School of Environmental, School of Information/Technology, School of Applied Science, School of Business Studies, School of Financial Studies, and Atani campus.

The competition featured a variety of sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and athletics.
In the opening football match, the School of Information/Technology (SIT) female team emerged victorious, defeating the School of Business Studies ladies by a close score of 2-1. The SIT team promised to keep the winning tempo
Meanwhile, in another match, the School of Financial Studies male team was defeated by the School of Applied Science with a final score of 2-0.
The Rector's Cup promises to be an exciting event, showcasing the talent and sporting prowess of the students at Federal Polytechnic Oko.
The Rector, Dr. Francisca Unoma Nwafulugo assured support for the tournament and stated that the tournament is sure to be an inclusive and empowering tournament for all participants. Staff and students witnessed the kick off.
The sportng activities as well as other events approved by the leadership of SUG countinue within the week.
