The Ceremonies Committee Chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide Anambra State- Ichie Sir Izuchukwu Nwabueze has congratulated the Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha and Metropolitan See for Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke on his 70th birthday.

At the celebration which held at  Onitsha Correctional Centre, Onitsha, Anambra State, Sir Izuchukwu Nwabueze prayed for more years of good health and divine nourishment for the Archbishop as he continues to shepherd the flock which God has entrusted in his care in the Archdiocese.

The event started with a Mass presided over by the celebrant, Archbishop Valerian Okeke and was attended by dignitaries including the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo and his wife. In suiport of the birthday, Governor  Soludo assured the payment of WAEC/NABTEB fees for qualified inmates. 

Other personalities were  represetaive of the Comptroller General of Nigeria Correctional Service C.G. Halilu Nababa- DCG Sylvester Nwakauche; former Minister of Labour, Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige, CON; Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Senator Dr Tony Nwoye;  Speaker, Rt Somtochukwu Udeze; Secretary to the State Government, Prof Solu Chukwusobelu; National Chairman of APGA, Barr Sly Ezeokenkwa; Chief of Staff to the State Govt Hon Ernest Ezeajuhi; Vicar General of Onitsha Archdiocese, Rev Fr. Johnbosco Okafor etc. 

Significantly, Senator Victor Umeh sponsored seven inmates as candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Similarly, Sir Nwabueze stood in for Prince Engr Dr Arthur Ikpechukwu Eze OFR was invited as Special Guest of Honour and donated 5 million in support of the proposed secondary school project in the Medium Security Custodial Center Onitsha.
